Authors Guidelines
Use American Psychological Association (APA) 6th Edition referencing Style for in-text citations and reference list
Captions for Tables and Figures must conform with APA 6th edition referencing format and must be placed in relevant sections within the text and not at the end of the manuscript
Submit manuscripts as Microsoft Word files
Two types of manuscripts should be submitted in camera-ready format as provided in our template: One manuscript that should be name File not for Review which should reflect within the body text the authors names. Affiliations and biographical sketch. And another which should named File for Peer Review which does not reflect the authors names, affiliations or biographical sketch
Manuscript must include an abstract of between 200-250 words and have a length of between 5000-6000 words. Authors should ensure that they conform with these requisite word counts
In order to conform strictly with our camera-ready requirements, authors are advised to download and use our camera-ready manuscript template which is provided in Microsoft Word and PDF versions

Open Access Policy
Health Communication Research is an open access Journal. It makes its contents accessible to researchers all over the world. In this way the Journal dwells on the principle that diffusing research freely enhances the global exchange of knowledge which is beneficial to humankind.
Peer Review Policy
- 1. Authors register with International Journal of Health Communication Research before submitting manuscripts to the Journal
- 2. Submitted articles undergo double-blind review involving two reviewers with expertise relevant to the authors research orientation
- 3. Articles adjudged as meeting our criteria are accepted and the Editor and Staff begin the process of readying them for publication in concert with the authors when necessary
- Articles come in camera-ready format in order to aid the Journals bimonthly turnaround format, so fully reviewed and accepted camera-ready papers are sent to the Editor for placement in International Journal of Health Communication Research
Abstracting and Indexing
International Journal of Health Communication Research is indexed in Google Scholar, a platform that provides widespread visibility to research works. We are working engaging other notable Indexers to ensure that in due course our Journal finds a place in efficient indexing platforms which showcase research
COPYRIGHT
Any author submitting manuscript(s) to International Journal of Health Communication Research automatically cedes copyright to the Journal when such manuscripts are accepted and published. Authors are therefore kindly requested to fill the copyright form and send it alongside the camera-ready manuscripts that have been accepted for publication
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
- If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
